Student Post: Mexican Artists

Mexican Artists
Mexican artists came to our school because this year in 4Ry we will study Mexico!

The People
Cilau Valadez is a Mexican artist that has a
specialty of making yarn paintings.
    Cilau Valadez was born in the Huichol
Mexican tribe up in the deep mountains of
Mexico. He grew up making yarn paintings.
The Huichol tribe of Mexico is mainly known
for their marvelous yarn paintings and bead
Work their work is as colorful as a macaw.  Cilau travel the world with other artists
like to Australia,the Czech Republic and
many more places.
 

What does Cilau do?
  Do you like to travel?,I do!
    Cilau travels the world with other artists and does special classes
with other young kids. He teaches them how to yarn paint and do
beautiful bead work. He teaches them the culture and history of the
Huichol tribe.

Yarn Paintings                                                    
Yarn,Yarn Yarn, every thing is yarn!       
    The Huichol tribe has been making yarn paintings and bead work for many   years.They make a living making and selling bead work and yarn paintings. Yarn painting is pretty common throughout the southern and coastal regions of Mexico.

Do you like to play with beads?
 Bead work is also pretty common as yarn painting.  Bed work has a longer process than yarn painting. The Huichol people mainly work on beaded skulls.
